Effective January 1, 2026, consumable hemp products may only be sold in this state by consumable hemp product retailers licensed by the Alabama ABC Board, as per Code of Alabama 1975 Title 28 Chapter 12
The three (3) distinct consumable hemp license types are listed as follows:
- Consumable Hemp Products Retail Food Store License
- Consumable Hemp Products Pharmacy License
- Consumable Hemp Products Specialty Retailer License

How to Apply
To apply for one or more of the license types above, complete the Consumable Hemp Products Pre-Application (Form LCD-53) and provide all required documents listed on the Consumable Hemp Products Pre-Application Checklist (Form LCD-54), linked below.
